Weight Management
The Center for Healthy Living and Weight Management was formed to address the many health issues associated with obesity.
Obesity is a serious medical problem that requires medically trained personnel to supervise and monitor weight loss programs via proper nutrition, activity level, stress level, hormonal level and pharmacological treatment.
The center was formed because we feel that in many ways, our medical system has failed to address the obesity epidemic that is rampant in the United States today. Due to the time constraints of many medical practices, many practices are not equipped with the time and resources necessary to handle the complex issues of obesity.
Many medical practices will treat the “symptoms of obesity" (conditions caused by obesity like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, etc.) and do not spend enough time or the resources to treat the underlying cause of the medical conditions.
Our center does not place patients on diets. Diets fail 85%
of the time, because patients cannot maintain the specific
diet for their lifetime. The doctor at our center is an expert regarding human physiology and understands the complex way that hormone cycles and life cycles play into a patient’s metabolism and aging.
Our center has a state of the art Biomeasure fitness system that computerizes patient’s height/weight, BMI and fat index ratio. The measuring system gives the doctor an insight into patient’s lean muscle mass as well as fat percentage. The center breaks down the lifestyle of the patient to ascertain
the underlying cause of patient’s weight problem.
Via Biomeasure fiteness system, blood work, history and physical examination, the doctor diagnoses the underlying cause of patients obesity and treats it accordingly. Some treatment may be simple nutrition/activity adjustment.
Some problems may be endocrine related that may require prescription medication to treat the problem.
Our center empowers patients to eat healthier, live healthier and lose weight as a consequence of those commitments.
